the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial site and looking down into the water
where so many of our American brothers are entombed.
There is STILL
a sheen of oil on the waters’ surface – bunker oil taken on in 1941
and seeping out still – another monument to those captured,
for all time, beneath the Hawaiian water.
