On May 14, 1948, on the day in which the
British Mandate over a Palestine expired,
It is not hard to understand why there was a war in 1949 where Israel took over the areas shown in dark green in the map above. Most of the land was already owned by Jews or was public land. See Land Owners map.

BUT

It is too bad that back in 1948-49 there were not more programs available to all persons involved to  build awareness and skills for productive, respectful relationships across cultures. A program where ALL individuals could have had the opportunity to recognize the impact of their own frame of reference, biases and stereotypes on behavior and relationships with others, gain a basic understanding of culture and how it influences teamwork and leadership, and obtain skills for communicating across language differences.
